HacksHackersBA y llega la Media Party. ¿Ya te registraste?


Tres jornadas imperdibles de conferencias, talleres, demos, networking y un hackatón "open data". Periodistas, analistas, diseñadores, programadores y activistas de todo el mundo se juntan para reiniciar los medios. 28 al 30 de Agosto de 2014 en Buenos Aires, Argentina. ¡Ya falta menos! Por tercer año consecutivo, vuelve a Buenos Aires la Hacks/Hackers BA Media Party 2014, el encuentro productivo de medios más grande de América latina. En 2014, esperamos 30 expertos de los mejores equipos de noticias interactivas y proyectos de innovación de todo el mundo, 40 workshops y una feria con más 70 proyectos. Además, habrá 10.000 usd en premios para el hackatón como parte del HacksLabs, la primera aceleradora de proyectos de periodismo de datos para América latina. El encuentro se realizará del 28 al 30 de Agosto en Ciudad Cultural Konex, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Este año, contaremos con la presencia de Burt Herman, de Storify y fundador de Hacks/Hackers, Trei Brundrett de Vox Media, Sasa Vucinic, de North Base Media, Adriano Farano de Whatchup, Mark Boas de HyperAud.io, Brian Boyer de NPR, Douglas Arellanes de Sourcefabric, Sara Schnadt de Census Reporter, Syed Karim de MDIF y Outernet.is, Dan Sinker director del programa Knight Mozilla Open News y programadores trabajando en New York Times, Washington Post, Ushahidi, Propublica y Texas Tribune. También vendrá Justin Arenstein junto a emprendedores africanos de AMI y Code4Africa, ganadores regionales del HacksLabs Challenge y La Ruta del dinero y Knight International Journalists Fellows de ICFJ; estarán presentes tres equipos de la Media Factory, primera aceleradora de medios periodísticos del mundo. Finalmente, Media Party se suma a la Maker Party de Mozilla Foundation, una campaña global para enseñar la web, y contará con la presencia de Melissa Romaine.
La Media Party está organizada por Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires, el capítulo local de una red global de innovación en medios. En este momento, el capítulo cuenta con 3000 miembros, es el segundo a nivel global (sólo debajo de Nueva York) y sigue creciendo. El año pasado reunimos 1000 personas durante 3 días y nos posicionamos como el evento productivo de innovación en medios más ambicioso del sur del continente. En 2012 y 2013 contamos con la presencia de medios y expertos de 21 países y 4 continentes, entre los que se destacaron The New York Times, la BBC, Chicago Tribune, The Guardian, Spiegel Online, etc y productos como Zeega, DocumentCloud y Sourcefabric. La edición 2013 fue el encuentro de Hacks/Hackers ¡más grande del mundo!
Este año, aspiramos a consolidarnos como el evento de innovación en medios más importante de habla hispana y para ello construiremos un espacio de encuentro comunitario donde aprender y trabajar junto con los pioneros de la innovación aplicada a la generación de audiencias, a la producción de noticias, al periodismo de datos, nuevas formas de monetización y a las nuevas formas de contar historias en el mundo digital.
La Media Party es posible gracias al apoyo de organizaciones como Knight Foundation, Knight-Mozilla Open News, Mozilla Foundation, HIVOS, International Center for Journalism,  una red de más de 60 voluntarios y una gran cantidad de organizaciones que colaboran en el armado. Hacks/Hackers BA Media Party is ready!
Three awesome days of conferences, workshops, demos, networking and an "open data" hackathon. Journalists, analysts, designers, programmers and activists from all over the world gather to restart the media.
For the third consecutive year, returns to Buenos Aires the Hacks/Hackers BA 2014 Media Party, the largest productive gathering of media in Latin America. tIn 2014, we expect 30 experts from the best interactive innovation projects worldwide, 40 workshops and a media fair with more than 70 news projects. In addition, there will be 10,000 usd prize for the hackathon as part of HacksLabs - the first accelerator journalism projects data for Latin America, and an extra day conference to gather for four days at the best digital ventures from four continents. The meeting will be held from 28 to 30 August in Konex Cultural City, Buenos Aires.
This year we’re counting with Burt Herman, from Storify and Hacks/Hackers, Trei Brundrett from Vox Media, Sasa Vucinic from North Base Media, Adriano Farano from Whatchup, Mark Boas from HyperAud.io, Brian Boyer from NPR, Douglas Arellanes from Sourcefabric, Syed Karim fro MDIF and Outernet.is, Dan Sinker from Knight Mozilla Open News and fellows working on New York Times, Washington Post, Ushahidi, Propublica y Texas Tribune. We will also have Justin Arenstein with african entrepreneurs AMI y Code4Africa, HacksLabs Challenge winners and Knight International Journalists Fellows from ICFJ. They will be pitching three teams of Media Factory, first news accelerator in the world. At last, Media Party is joinig Maker Party from Mozilla Foundation, a global campaign to teach the web with the presence of Melissa Romaine.

The Media Party is organized by Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires, the local chapter of a global network of media innovation. Buenos Aires chapter has 3100 members and growing. Last year 1,000 people gathered for 3 days and we positioned ourselves as the most ambitious productive event at the south of the Continent. In 2012 and 2013 we had the presence of media and experts from 21 countries and 4 continents, among them The New York Times, the BBC , Chicago Tribune , The Guardian, Spiegel Online, etc. and products like Zeega , DocumentCloud and Sourcefabric.
